Fall on property
A fall review usually starts with the condition that caused the incident and who controlled that part of the property. A wet surface, uneven step and poorly lit walkway call for different factual details. Explain when the condition was noticed and reported. The existence of a hazard alone does not resolve every question about responsibility.
- Photographs showing the condition and surrounding area
- Property address, business name and incident-report reference
- Witnesses, footwear information and any follow-up correspondence
Location to identify: The place of the collision, fall or other event; the report number and issuing organization; and where any lawsuit was filed.
Ask a lawyer: What is known about the condition, its duration and who maintained the area?
