Bus incident
A bus-related inquiry should identify whether you were a passenger, pedestrian, cyclist or occupant of another vehicle. Record the operator’s name, route, bus number and location if known. A public transit operator, school bus and private charter can raise different procedural and insurance questions. Identify the actual operator rather than assuming that all buses use the same process.
- Operator, route, bus number and incident location
- Ticket or trip record, report reference and witnesses
- Correspondence, treatment dates and relevant expenses
Location to identify: The place of the collision, fall or other event; the report number and issuing organization; and where any lawsuit was filed.
Ask a lawyer: Which operator and procedures are involved, and is any notice time-sensitive?
