Bicycle crash
Bicycle incidents can involve a turning vehicle, an opened door, a roadway condition or another road user. Describe the movement of each person and the exact location, including any bike lane or driveway. Preserve the bicycle and equipment information where practical and safe. General cycling safety guidance explains risks; it does not decide fault in an individual incident.
- Location, direction of travel and lane or crossing details
- Photographs of the bicycle, equipment and scene
- Witnesses, incident report and insurer responses
Location to identify: The place of the collision, fall or other event; the report number and issuing organization; and where any lawsuit was filed.
Ask a lawyer: What evidence explains the movements and road conditions before the collision?
