Which places are included?
Inclusion means an estimate strictly above 5,000 residents: Census July 1, 2025 estimates for incorporated places, consolidated cities and functioning towns or townships; 2020–2024 ACS five-year estimates for Census-designated places (Urban Honolulu uses the Census 2025 estimate). These different periods are labeled on each page. Municipalities and communities can overlap; these records are not additive population totals. Coverage includes the 50 states and D.C., excluding U.S. territories.
Some towns contain villages or Census-designated communities with similar names. Official names, geographic identifiers and available county information help you choose. A community listing does not establish attorney coverage. Population data reviewed October 15, 2026.
